The Marriage Engagement

On July 26, 2005, Sarah and Steve were taking an evening walk in Falls Park, relaxing after work and enjoying being with each other. Months before, Steve had suggested having some engagement pictures taken at the Falls some day, and that night he oh-so-sneakily suggested climbing up on some rocks by the Reedy Falls to take a few pictures in the twilight with his camera. Now, if you have already taken the above "Quiz," you know that Steve gives Sarah a seashell every day. After snapping a few shots, he casually said he wanted to give Sarah her daily shell and whipped out a very large and beautiful nautica he had picked up in Florida in 2004. When Sarah turned the shell over to admire it, her eyes opened wide as she saw the stunning engagement ring taped inside. When Steve saw her expression, he told her he loved her and that as long as he had known that she was the woman he believed God had made to be his wife, he had known that the English language would not be sufficient to express to her the depth of his affection. He knelt down in front of her on the rock and said in perfect French, «Sarah Amanda Crosby, veux-tu m'épouser?» The combined shock of Steve's asking her to marry him and his doing so in French (a language he has often teased Sarah for speaking) left her simply repeating his question, then loudly proclaiming «Oui, oui, oui!» As they sat in the middle of the falls before Steve proposed, their camera flash had attracted the attention of more than a few folks on the suspension bridge. They didn't realize it, but they had a rather large audience for the special moment! When Steve stood up, the crowd cheered and clapped and whistled with the bride- and groom-to-be in their joy.
